We are Jeff & Caroline (husband & wife), who live in London, UK and are a disabled couple who love to travel.

When Jeff was born, his left leg had not formed properly.  Through operations, Jeff’s thigh was removed, a new hip socket was created, and his shin was brought up to meet his hip.  He walks with a prosthetic leg.  Now he is becoming an old man, lol, he uses a scooter while out and about.  This scooter is not your typical mobility scooter; rather, it resembles a trike.  (Affiliate Link).  View product.

I, Caroline, was born with a rare disability called Arthrogryposis (among many other ailments).  My arms, legs, hands and joints don’t work the same as others.  I became a full-time wheelchair user approximately 22 years ago due to scoliosis.

Jeff and I have holidayed in many places, from Tunisia to Las Vegas.  However, our favourite type of holiday is cruising.  When we sail from the UK, we find checking in can be a breeze, and it is easy to get on and off the ship.  Additionally, we have found most of the ships we have cruised on to be very accessible.

The biggest plus I would say is sailing from the UK I get to stay in my electric wheelchair the whole time.  No fear of it being taken away and possibly damaged.

When booking our holidays/trips etc. we have found information can be uninformative, incorrect or simply non-existent.  Therefore, we thought, why not share our experiences and give you the truth about so-called “accessible” holidays.
