Meet Jeff & Caroline
Jeff
Jeff was born with a congenital condition that affected the development of his left leg. As a child, surgeons removed the upper part of his leg and repositioned his shin and foot in place of his thigh, and created a new hip joint, enabling him to walk with a prosthetic leg ever since.

We travel not to tick places off a list, but to find places that welcome us, work for us, and let us relax and enjoy life just like everyone else.
Caroline
Caroline was born with a rare disability called Arthrogryposis (among other ailments). Caroline’s arms, legs, hands, and joints don’t work the same as those of others. She became a full-time wheelchair user approximately 22 years ago due to scoliosis.

We’ve travelled to many places, from Tunisia, New York, to the Canary Islands and Las Vegas. We’ve sailed from the UK across Europe. Every trip has taught us something new about accessibility – both the good and the disappointing.
We were tired of reading reviews that called places “accessible” when they clearly weren’t. So we created Wheel Escapes to provide honest, detailed, personally experienced reviews that disabled travellers can trust.
We share the details, others miss, so you can travel with confidence and focus on making memories, not overcoming barriers.
