Why did you start Wheel Escapes?
After years of travelling, we realised that many places described as accessible weren’t always accessible in reality. We wanted to create a website where disabled travellers could find honest information based on genuine, first-hand experiences.
Who Are your reviews written for?
Our reviews are primarily written for travellers with disabilities and wheelchair users. And anyone looking for reliable accessibility information. However, families, carers, friends and travel companions often find our reviews useful too.

Are your reviews honest?
Absolutely. If something isn’t accessible, we’ll say so. If something exceeds our expectations, we’ll celebrate it. We never hide our experiences because we believe honest reviews help everyone.
Do you only review accessible places.?
No. We review places as we find them. Some destinations are excellent, while others have room for improvement. Our aim is to give our readers an honest picture before they travel.
How do you rate accessibility?
We look beyond wheelchair ramps. We consider things like parking, step-free access, toilets, lifts, bedrooms, bathrooms, restaurants, transport, customer service, and the overall experience.
